About AFI
AFI formed in Ukiah, California, in 1991, beginning as a hardcore punk band. Their music gradually expanded through horror punk, post-hardcore and emo into alternative and gothic rock. That changing catalogue keeps the intensity of the band's early work close to a growing interest in atmosphere, melody and carefully shaped arrangements.
