About Alice in Chains

Alice in Chains began in Seattle in 1987, bringing heavy metal weight into the city's alternative rock scene. Their closely layered vocals and dark guitar sound became central to grunge, while albums such as Facelift, Dirt and their self-titled record established a distinctive identity. Their catalogue also extends into acoustic music and later recordings with William DuVall.
