Spotify About Anathema
Anathema formed in Liverpool in 1990, beginning in doom metal before moving towards atmospheric and progressive rock. The Cavanagh brothers were central to the band's changing musical direction. We're Here Because We're Here, Weather Systems and Distant Satellites belong to the later period, when their music placed more emphasis on melody, space and layered arrangements.
