About Deftones
Deftones formed in Sacramento, California, in 1988, founded by Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter and Abe Cunningham. Their alternative metal brings heavy guitar sounds together with more spacious, atmospheric passages. The contrast between Moreno's melodic singing and the band's physical force gives their records room to move between aggression, intimacy and carefully layered textures.
