About Green Day
Green Day emerged from California's Bay Area punk scene after forming in 1987. Dookie brought the band into the mainstream in 1994 and helped renew a wider interest in punk rock. A decade later, American Idiot introduced a larger rock-opera format, adding another major chapter to a catalogue built around Billie Joe Armstrong's songwriting.
