About Mahavishnu Orchestra
Mahavishnu Orchestra combined electric jazz and rock in recordings led by guitarist John McLaughlin. The original group featured Jerry Goodman on violin, Jan Hammer on keyboards, Rick Laird on bass and Billy Cobham on drums. The Inner Mounting Flame and Birds of Fire document this version of the band.
