Spotify About Mastodon
Mastodon formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2000 and developed a heavy metal sound that became increasingly open to progressive arrangements. Leviathan drew on Herman Melville's Moby-Dick, while Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye continued their interest in ambitious album concepts. Their music has used both harsh and clean vocals across different stages of the catalogue.
