About Slayer
Slayer formed in Huntington Park, California, in 1981 and became one of thrash metal's central bands. Speed and aggression shaped their sound, with Reign in Blood becoming a particularly influential release in 1986. Alongside Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax, they are regularly grouped among the genre's 'Big Four', with later albums including South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss.
