The Homme
In 2019, Bryan Eich (vocalist and guitarist), Connor Owens (bassist), and Dan Pfeifer (drummer) came together to start The Homme, laying down tracks in Pfeifer's basement in Long Island, New York's suburbs. Their music, a mix of ambient guitars, driving rhythms, and atmospheric synths, mirrors the beachy vibe of their location. Jay Sarle joined as another vocalist and guitarist, adding a harmonious dimension to Eich's catchy pop tunes, making their songs memorable and chant-worthy.
The Homme excels at creating complex sounds from simple elements. Their first single, 'Silver Lake,' showcases this talent with a fusion of 60's beach rock guitars, synthesizers mimicking ocean waves, and dynamic bass and drum lines, all supporting a pop melody that pays homage to a summer romance. Their self-produced Tides EP continues this trend, mixing ambient indie guitars, dreamlike synths, upbeat pop melodies, Latin-inspired rhythms, and energetic grooves.
