Blak and Blu
Blak and Blu gives Gary Clark Jr. room to show how many ways he can approach a song. His major-label debut has the force of blues rock, but it also makes space for soul, funk and more modern rhythms. The guitar playing is central, although the record works best when the singing and writing are given equal attention.
