Foxtrot brings the theatrical and instrumental sides of Genesis into a stronger relationship. Peter Gabriel's changing voices give the songs character, while the keyboards, guitar and rhythm section provide more than a setting for his stories. The music can be strange and demanding, but its strongest passages have a clear sense of direction.
