The Earth Pushed Back
The Earth Pushed Back finds strength in the space between gentle playing and an unsettled voice. Have Mercy build their songs around clear guitar lines, close harmonies and a rhythm section that knows when to hold back. Brian Swindle's singing can turn rough in an instant, giving the quieter arrangements a nervous edge. The contrast makes this a compelling emo and indie rock debut.
