Naveed has a voice that is difficult to mistake for anyone else's. Raine Maida bends and strains his lines, often making a melody feel as though it might suddenly break free of the song around it. Our Lady Peace give that unstable quality a firm musical setting, and the combination makes an unusually vivid debut. Starseed is the most immediate example.
