Distant Populations

Distant Populations is a compact album with a strong sense of movement. Quicksand use shifting rhythms, thick bass lines and guitar parts that can be sharp or hazy without changing the band's basic shape. The music has the weight of post-hardcore, but the melodies leave a clear way in. It is controlled, detailed rock that rarely needs to raise its voice to make a point.
