Animosity

Sevendust

Animosity gives Sevendust's heavy sound a wider emotional range. The guitars still deliver plenty of weight, but Lajon Witherspoon's singing allows the music to become more open and reflective. The third album is most effective when that contrast shapes a complete song. At other points, the familiar riffs and repeated pressure make the writing feel less individual than the performances deserve.
