Black Out the Sun
Black Out the Sun finds Sevendust working confidently within their established sound. Heavy guitars and firm rhythms provide the weight, while Lajon Witherspoon's voice keeps melody at the centre of the songs. The ninth album offers few major surprises, but the best material gives familiar ideas enough character to remain engaging. Its appeal comes from strong delivery and clear hooks rather than a change of direction.
