Sevendust

Home gets much of its character from the space between Sevendust's heavy instruments and Lajon Witherspoon's voice. The guitars are low and tightly controlled, the drums push hard, and the singing gives that mechanical weight a more human centre. The band's second album can be blunt, but its strongest songs bring melody into the sound without making it feel less forceful.
