The Weight Of The Mask
The Weight Of The Mask brings heavy music and difficult feelings into close contact. Svalbard combine the urgency of hardcore with ringing guitar melodies, fast black metal rhythms and quieter stretches of post-rock. The songs deal openly with depression and the effort of hiding pain. Their strength comes from the way the music carries that subject, giving the words force without making every moment equally loud.
