Clairvoyant
Clairvoyant puts atmosphere at the centre of The Contortionist's progressive sound. The guitars remain detailed and the rhythms still shift beneath the songs, but melody, keyboards and Michael Lessard's clean vocals have more space. The result is often calm without becoming empty. The band use their technical ability to create movement inside the mood, rather than asking every part to stand at the front.
