The Dark Pool
The Dark Pool places a strong voice at the centre of Thornhill's atmospheric metalcore. The guitars have plenty of weight, but the band's interest in cleaner melody gives the songs a wider emotional range. Their debut album is often carefully arranged and convincing in its heavier moments. It is less distinctive when the surrounding atmosphere settles into patterns that many similar bands already use.
