Godbluff

Van der Graaf Generator

Godbluff gives Van der Graaf Generator a tense, direct sound without removing the complexity of their progressive rock. Organ and saxophone carry much of the instrumental weight, while Peter Hammill's voice moves from restraint to a much harsher delivery. The arrangements are detailed, but the dramatic purpose is usually clearer than any desire to display technique.
