About Strapping Young Lad
Strapping Young Lad began in Vancouver in 1994 as a studio project led by Devin Townsend. It grew into a full extreme metal band, with dense production, rapid drumming and heavily layered guitar work. City brought the group wider underground recognition in 1997, while Alien and The New Black belong to its later run of albums.
