About Deafheaven

Deafheaven formed in San Francisco in 2010, beginning with singer George Clarke and guitarist Kerry McCoy. Their music helped bring wider attention to blackgaze, connecting black metal with shoegaze and post-rock. From Roads to Judah onwards, their records have explored the contrast between harsh vocals, intense playing and more open, atmospheric guitar passages.
