Sci-Fi Crimes
Sci-Fi Crimes gives Chevelle's heavy rock a darker, more varied setting. The thick guitar sound and large choruses remain familiar, but Pete Loeffler explores a wider vocal range and the songs leave more room for atmosphere. There is still plenty of direct force here. The improvement lies in how the band change the pressure around it.
