Asymmetry
Asymmetry puts friction at the centre of Karnivool's sound. The guitars can seem to pull away from the rhythm beneath them, and a vocal melody may arrive without making the surrounding parts settle down. The discomfort has a purpose: familiar musical instincts keep meeting something that refuses to fit neatly around them. Nachash is a persuasive introduction to that approach.
