Df'nB
If you love swing and you love guitar, then this is the track for you. With Df'nB, Jim Pelz has delivered a wonderful instrumental track in the lead-up to his album Welcome to the View from the Ground.
What I like about this single is that the song is clearly divided into phases. These phases are different, yet they remain part of a coherent whole. It is a tribute to Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers Band. For musical support, he brought in David Grissom to provide an extra musical boost. The two guitarists play both solo and together, which adds an extra layer to the track.
For an instrumental track of 5:21, it stays surprisingly engaging. A lot happens and it never gets boring. All in all, definitely worth a listen!
